Welcome to DSLRNewb, a blog that helps amateur photographers get better at their art.
I’m Chris, and I’m a DSLR newb. Having had a compact camera for years, and then using my phone camera more than anything I recently made the move to buy a Digital SLR (a Canon EOS 1000D to be precise). Suffice to say I love it, and the new creative opportunities offered.
I had a whole host of questions that I wanted answered when I started experimenting with my camera, and thought, “I can’t be the only one”. DSLRNewb aims to help answer the questions I had, and you may have as well. As I gain more experience, or through the writing of other contributing authors, I aim to help answer those questions. I’m by no means a photography expert, but I am on a journey of learning and invite you to join me and contribute whenever you choose.
Many of the techniques and technology covered here will be applicable to users of non-SLR cameras too, please do explore the site and see what there is that is suited to your own situation.
